With exceptional pictures and texts the Pixel-Mixes Project aims at drawing attention to those dogs living in the shelter who have almost no chance for adoption. The members of the first group include the ageing and / or injured “imperfect” dogs of the Debrecen Doghouse and Animal Shelter. This time we would like to help them find a loving home despite their old age and health problems.
Three
of us visioned the project and the shelter’s staff and volunteers
helped us to make it come true. Thanks to our supporters, the adoptive
owners of the dogs which are participating in the project not only get a
new dog mate, but also special allowances, as well as presents.
The distributor of the Josera animal food in Hajdu-Bihar county and the team of the Blöki Butik offered the new owners a smaller starter set and further discounts on dog food.
Thanks to the Szityike design
the new dog owners can get unique handmade dog-related and non
dog-related equipment and accessories on a very reasonable price.
The adopted dogs can benefit from the Debrecen based dog school’s A TE KutyasuliD a discounted subscription if they want some training as despite the saying even old dogs can learn new tricks.

Is there anybody out there waiting for me who could promise me a happy end? Please read my story, because it could be you!

I
know the secret of the eternal youth! Just take a look at me now, here I
am a 10-year-old playful, energetic dog. Adopt me and in return I'll
share my secret with you.

I am no longer a teenager, I am a little slower, move a little harder, play and walk a little less. What? Sorry, I couldn't get it. Oh, all right, you are not exactly active, yourself. Or maybe you have countless candles on your birthday cake as well. Then we are meant for each other. When can I move in?
.
It's good to know that Heaven reserves a special place for those adopting an old dog.

What
do you picture for your pensioner years? Would you like to live in
peace and harmony surrounded by your family? Eat good food, remember the
past years, walk in the park? OR just stretch yourself out on the
couch, read a good book and watch some TV? You see, humans just like
dogs need the very same things!

All
right, I know i am not that beautiful. But honestly, when you look into the
mirror do you find yourself so?? If you aren’t perfect either, we can make a
perfect match. What about a date then? Motto: „Two imperfects make a perfect
couple!”

Albus
Well,
I am not exactly small. My legs are long, but my figure is slender. Had
I been born a human, I would be a sought-after model. But as you can
see, for a dog life's not easy with this figure. If you have a tall
friend, I am ready for a meeting. Next to your friend I am sure, I will
look smaller and can have a chance to find my owner. Thanx!
.
If
I was an animal, I wouldn't keep humans in an apartment. They are loud and
dirty. And even smelly. I am a grumpy old gentleman. But one thing I can
promise: if you share your home with me, I won't make you sleep in the garden.
.
Do you mind that I have only one eye? Because I don't. The one-eyed Minion is just as cute as the others, don't you think?

The visionaires of the project
Renáta Biri-Szabó - dog photographer
“Despite
my young age, I am lucky to be able to tell many things about myself: I am a
therapy dog handler, agility training leader, habilitation dog trainer, special
needs teacher -to-be, practicing dog photographer, blogger, responsible animal
owner, young wife and an incurable perfectionist. :) In the Pixel-Mixes project
- which is one of my dearest dreams - I am responsible for taking the photos
and editing the blog.”
“Regarding my profession, I am a special needs
teacher, and for five years I have been applying dog therapy in the treatment
of children with multiple disabilities. In my private life, my partner and I
have a big family and share our lives with our three furry children. Two of
them are adopted dogs and that’s what motivated me in this project. My tasks: I
give a helping hand in taking photos, write slogan texts, collect accessories
and do whatever else is needed.”

Zsani Kecskeméti - coordinator
“Four
years ago I happened to find myself attached to dogs as my first four-legged
friend came into my life. We started out at the dog school, continued at the
agility, then ended up being volunteers at therapy sessions. After some years
of uncertainty all of this enabled me to find my way: presently I am a social
pedagogy student. In the project I am in charge of keeping contact and provide
continuous help.”
